The right software.
For your side of the session.

CLIENT is freely available to anyone connecting a vehicle-side VCI. Technicians subscribe to HOST to connect remotely and run diagnostic sessions.

01 / Technician side · Paid subscription

Run the session from here.

For specialists and workshops connecting to remote VCIs and working from their own diagnostic environment.

  • Connect with the customer’s ticket code
  • Access a compatible remote VCI
  • Run your own diagnostic applications
  • Use your existing software licenses and profiles
  • View connection and network readouts
02 / Vehicle side · Free application

Bring your VCI online.

For customers and workshops connecting a local vehicle interface to a remote technician through a ticket.

  • Select a USB or Ethernet / LAN connection
  • Generate a ticket for the technician
  • Share access to your compatible local VCI
  • View network activity and session status
  • No diagnostic suite needed on this laptop

Only HOST requires a paid subscription. CLIENT is free to obtain and use on the vehicle side; the connecting technician needs HOST. Diagnostic software licenses, laptops and VCI hardware are supplied separately.

A straightforward workflow

Connect. Share. Diagnose.

The diagnostic application stays on the technician’s computer. CLIENT handles the connection at the vehicle.

01 / CONNECT THE HARDWARE

Start at the vehicle.

Connect the compatible VCI to the vehicle and local laptop. Open CLIENT and select how the VCI is connected.

02 / SHARE THE TICKET

Send access to the technician.

Generate a session ticket in CLIENT and send the code to the technician using your usual messaging channel.

03 / USE YOUR SOFTWARE

Connect through HOST.

Enter the ticket in HOST. Once the VCI is available, open your compatible diagnostic application and begin.

Your familiar diagnostic environment

Share the hardware.
Keep your setup.

RemoteDiag brings the compatible VCI to your laptop. Work with the diagnostic tools you already know, rather than installing a full diagnostic suite on the customer’s machine.

Frequently asked questions

Before you buy.

Which version should I buy?

Subscribe to HOST if you are the technician connecting remotely and running diagnostics from your own laptop. CLIENT is free for anyone connecting their local VCI to a technician. A remote session uses both applications, but only HOST requires a paid subscription.

Is diagnostic software included?

No. The technician uses their own compatible diagnostic applications and licenses. CLIENT does not require those diagnostic applications to be installed on the vehicle-side laptop.

Is this a remote desktop tool?

No. RemoteDiag connects compatible VCI hardware over the internet to the technician’s computer, where the diagnostic software runs.

Will my existing VCI work?

Check the tested list and send DataScan your exact VCI model, connection type and diagnostic software. Our team will help confirm compatibility before you purchase.

Is CLIENT free? Can I try HOST?

CLIENT is available free of charge. HOST has a €50 full-access trial. If you subscribe within 30 days, the €50 is deducted from your €250 annual HOST fee. Contact DataScan for activation and trial duration.

Can I perform coding or programming?

Ask us to confirm your specific vehicle, VCI, software and operation. Suitability depends on the combination and connection stability.
